The Broken Chessboard Problem was first posed by the famous English puzzlist, H. E. Dudeney in his book "The Canterbury Puzzles and Other Curious Problems".

Although he only published a single solution to his problem, there are in fact 4 distinct solutions, excluding rotations and reflections. Your task is to find as many as you can. The 13 pieces must be placed into the frame to form the original chessboard. It is not sufficient to merely get all the pieces to fit into the frame, you must also have regard for the alternate black/white coloring of the chess board.

The computer version of this intriguing puzzle is also accompanied by a copy of the originally published problem No. 74 from Dudeney's puzzle book. Why not order your copy today? It's absolutely free!
